IU Graduation

I had a wonderful time this weekend at IU's Commencement. Michael Kirby, the keynote speaker was amazing. He spoke of growing up as an emotionally troubled young man in 1950's Australia. He was unsure of his feelings toward other men and his sexual orientation was chided as unnatural and evil. His connection to IU started when he learned about the Kinsey Institute. When he spoke of acceptance and moving forward the applause was momentous. My eyes watered without hesitation at his epoch speech.
